After nursing a stranger back to health, Thorik is asked to help find the people responsible for a recent attack upon the Grand Council. The stranger, Ambrosius, is the only survivor of the attack and is determined to take his revenge. However, upon forming a traveling party to investigate the claims and search for those responsible, he finds evidence that Ambrosius was the one who committed the attack. To make things worse, members from Thorik’s own party are found to have secrets that are preventing him from finding out the truth about the murders of the council members as well as a new threat that could destroy the kingdom.

Dragons, giants, stone golems, faeries, and many other creatures stand in the way of Thorik determining who to trust, who to follow, and who to stop from reaching the next point of destruction.
