This is a story about the haunting of an American family newly arrived in the Northern Territories of Hong Kong.
The spirit of a Chinese concubine, murdered over a hundred years ago, attaches itself to the young children of the family in the form of her familiar, a Siamese cat. Once established in the home she fastens onto the father at night and seduces him.
The familys domestic helper, a young Filipina, comes to realize what is happening. Her involvement leads to tense confrontations with the denizen of the afterworld, and fears for the safety of the children.
But none of them know the tragic story that lies behind the spirits reappearance, or what she is really searching for
Only a death can save them.
