Alisha Basara is torn between the traditions of her birth country Sanuria and the contemporary lifestyle she has adopted since living in the United States when her father introduces her to her future husband. Struggling to cope with the concept of an arranged marriage to a man she loathes, she runs away. Entwined in the traditions of her culture she soon realizes that there is no way out of her desperate situation. When her bus back to Washington D.C. is delayed, she finds herself in a nearby bar where she gets to know a group of firefighters. Fascinated by the strong affection she seems to have for one of them, she spends a magical night with him, knowing that her involvement with the young firefighter could have fatal consequences for her. Jayden Fox has never believed in love. Being a maverick, he only lives for the moment. When one day an exotic woman stumbles into the bar where the young firefighter and his friends are in the middle of a stag party, he instantly knows that something about her is special. Intrigued, he starts a conversation with her. Overwhelmed by the feelings he is experiencing, Jay starts to wonder if maybe she is the one, not knowing that his connection to the mysterious beauty could cost him everything. Maybe even his life.
