Bloodied bodies littered the floor of the warehouse and the sands of the beach along the quiet shore of Lake Erie. The Shadows' invasion stopped and their human followers defeated. Their portal to Earth closed. But for how long? And what about the other worlds? Even now Duat was under attack. Duat, the home of Ra.

Arthur took a deep breath. He was exhausted. This gift, or curse, this power of the Blocker, awakened within him by some unknown entity to fight these monsters, held a price. Gone was the life he had known, taken from him as he was thrown into a war that few on his world knew existed. Forcing him to become a soldier, a warrior. Thrusting him into a fight where he had to kill these things before they could kill him. It had changed him.

Feeling the weight of the sword in his hand he glanced down.  Excalibur, the sword created by Merlin for Arthur Pendragon, King Arthur. Now his. His alone to use. He had. He had never killed a man before.

Turning his head he focused on those that had fought at his side. Warriors from surrounding dimensions. Heroes of myth and legend standing with him in this fight to save his world. Was it now time for him to help defend theirs?

A young woman took his hand. Kathleen, the beautiful daughter of The Emrys. She believed in him. Believed as did the others he might be their salvation. The one with the power to end the Shadow War. The legendary First Dragon. But was he?
