Writing is a gift that the Lord has blessed me with. It started on the anniversary of my Grandmother Miller’s death, some years back. It seemed the deeper I would go with the Lord, the deeper the understanding He would give me. The first writing was “Jesus Is the Key.” After being saved, I just knew in my heart that He was the key to everything I needed. Oh, how glorious it is to have that hope of eternal salvation. “What If Faith,” the title of one of my poems, came to me one night as I sat in my chair. My pastor, Paul Baker, was facing a risky surgery that a friend they knew passed away from. Pastor and Mrs. Baker were nervous, to say the least. This poem came to me just days before he went into surgery. The Lord works in mysterious and wonderful ways. The poem “The Rings” came to me one night while having some health issues. I had been sick for a while, and some doubts and fears were rearing their ugly head. I could see the rings and visualize the further you get away from the Lord, the worse things get. “Through His Eyes” came to me one night as I lay in bed. The state of our nation was really bothering me. All I could think of is, what would our forefathers and veterans think of this mess? All they fought for is slowly being stolen away. Some of the other writings were out of love for my wife, mother, and family. All were because of God’s love. Without Him, none of this is possible. With God, all things are possible.
