“Good morning, Dirk.” Ben called out from the stairwell. “Glad to see you here so early. I heard you normally came out here before everyone else, so I counted on it. There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you.”
“Uh... sure, boss. What is it?” Dirk stammered a little, obviously taken aback. “Is something wrong?”
“Well, that depends on how you think about it.” Ben replied, looking a bit flustered himself. “I’m not really sure why I’m telling you this, but lately, I’ve noticed that I keep looking for you during the day. When I see you, I always stare for a while, and watch you work. I spend a few seconds watching your arms hammer, or your shoulders pull. I don’t really know what’s going on with me. I’ve never really felt like this about another man before.”
Ben looked Dirk up and down; he seemed a little nervous, maybe even a little scared about what he’d just admitted. Dirk knew they were the only ones on site, and would be for at least another hour. He crossed the floor to see his boss a little better, and to try and calm him down.
“I... I admit I’ve been doing the same thing. It’s been awhile since I got my divorce, I just figured I was lonely,” Dirk started, “but I think there’s more to it than just being alone and horny. There’s something really special about you. I’ve been thinking about it – and you – a lot lately. I just can’t get you out of my mind.”
“Jesus, you have no idea how glad I am that you just said that. I’ve been beating myself up for days now. Like I said, I’ve never thought about another man like I think about you.” Ben said, visibly relaxing.
“I’ve never done anything like this at all either,” said Dirk, “but right now as I’m looking at you, I know I won’t be able to keep my mind on work unless we do something about it.” He walked nearer to Ben, who grinned one of his bright, brilliant smiles that had turned Dirk on so much in the past few days.
