Contrary to popular myth, not everyone who saves the world drives a fancy car equipped with ground to air missiles, wears a watch which fires laser beams, or has x-ray glasses. Sometimes, just sometimes, that person might be wearing a T-shirt and jeans, have a massive beer gut hanging over his belt, and not be too fussy whether he's got a job or not.

Enter Reg Foot, a middle aged dreamer who believes that success is always just around the corner. So when he happens to cross paths with someone whom he is assured is a dab hand with the Tarot cards, and discovers that he'll have everything he's ever wanted in life in the near future, it's full steam ahead for every iceberg of opportunity which comes his way. And for Reg, those icebergs come thick and fast, as his long suffering wife Gwen stands by on the pumps with a bottle of gin to ease her pain. But Reg pushes on, facing every challenge that presents itself, because for him, life is all about challenge, whether it's the challenge to get out of bed before ten in the morning, to try and keep at least some of his beer supply until after lunchtime, or the biggest challenge of all, to keep himself out of a police cell.

For Reg, like most people, money comes and goes, sometimes in the tens of millions, but more often than not in amounts where any self respecting moth would vacate the owner's wallet, and move on to greener pastures. But also, like most of Reg's fellow Englishmen, there's never a dull moment, where someone isn't trying to either shut him up, beat him up, or blow him up. But life isn't all bad, as one day, the sun comes out, the icebergs melt, and life looks like it's going to be smooth sailing from then on. But beneath the calm waters, lurk monsters, quite literally, and in the end, things are only going to turn out one way, with a great big bang!
