Living on a deep space colony, C. Alan Scott yearns for fame and fortune. For his entire life, he has lived in his father’s shadow and desperately wants to establish his own name. Surviving capture, failed negotiations, and a massacre at the aliens’ capital do nothing to deter Scott’s ambition. Even a pursuit expedition intended for his arrest does not phase him. Unwilling to give up, he continues to pursue his goal of fame and fortune but at what cost? Scott must decide what means he is willing to take to achieve the ends he desires.
