In the early 1970s, Pauls life went through major changes. He had recently left his job as a retail clerk and was living on unemployment. A young man in his mid-twenties, he started to write. He had first taken an interest in poetry in the eighth grade when his teacher doled out an assignment, never knowing it would become his passion. In the 1970s, Paul wroteand wrote some more. He couldnt stop writing really, and For What Its Worth was born. He mixes imagery with real life lessons that serve to awaken the senses and inspire the mind. In Peace, he writes about the beauty of a new day: The morning comes With its brightest sun Filling my body with warmth My head loosens As the sun soothes For morning comes A new tomorrow For today. As if inspired by some great muse, this collection literally put itself together. It is not just a collection of poetry but also an echo of itself, like a cycle, from here to there and back again. This is a book to be read from start to finish, from the first poem to the last, and in doing so, we find meaning and acknowledge the wonders of life.
