FOREWORD BY DR. TOM C. FULLER…

My friend John Schmidt has assembled a practical and usable list of ideas that will work in any church whose members love the Lord and will focus their efforts on winning people for Christ. John’s many years as a Christian author and his commitment to the Lord make this compilation of creative ideas realistic and workable. I recommend that you study carefully and use the inspired information in this little book!

Tom C. Fuller, D.Min

Dr. Fuller is General Evangelist for the United Methodist Church. He served as a pastor for over thirty years, growing one church from under 100 to over 300 in four years. Since 2006, when he went into church reform full-time, he has traveled extensively – preaching, teaching, singing, and presenting The John Wesley Adventure, which describes Wesley’s life and his balanced, biblical beliefs. He has written ten books and holds numerous degrees and credits. Tom has preached, taught or sung across America, as well as in Great Britain and India. He and his wife Connie have three wonderful daughters: Mary, Becky and Beth.

From the INTRODUCTION…

As you perhaps know, church growth is relative. I have attended dozens of churches in my lifetime from the small to the medium-sized to the mega-churches, and quite honestly, I loved them all. But I can’t attend all of them. Usually I need to decide on one. Not every kind of church fits everyone’s needs or the needs of a particular group of people. Decisions which impact church growth are based on issues as broad as location, purpose, and future plans, while allowing the Lord to guide the church’s process. He will lead your people in the best ways for all concerned.

I began this list of tips in order to help a single church. I was thankful when they acted on one of the ideas. I was delighted when they put two more ideas into practice. So in my humble reasoning, I thought, “If I helped one church, and I am a writer, perhaps I can help others.” So now you have this book in your possession.
