'Freeology' is a word which can be used to describe a way of life and a way of thinking to generate unity among people and between people and our environment. It can be regarded as the pursuit of and application of freedom.The ethos of Freeology is simplicity and harmony; to live with an attitude of freedom and to allow others also to be free. Freeology is based on equal access to land and the rights of free people (nomads) to travel without hindrance and share common land for access to food and as places to stay. Freeology refers to a moneyless society, to an absence of patriarchal governance, oppression, fear and law which supports and upholds the minority elite and the status quo. The purpose of this essay is to propose an alternative vision for society. If we do not act to change society; to offer an alternative way of living as a challenge to the corporations and governments who put profit before people and the environment, then there may be no way for change to occur except by merely hoping for a complete collapse of modern society.The premise of this essay is that all the issues which afflict people and the planet: climate change, pollution, inequality, conflict, oppression, lack of freedom, consumerism and capitalism, have but one solution; a return to the land and simplicity of life.
Peace and equality requires a return to the land and the right to roam.
