The project was put together by Altair Australia Pty Ltd to get new works, often unseen works together for general reading. Some of these might not be world beaters or award winners, but these newer voices have developed well during the editing of the collection. The editor, Robert N Stephenson. has been publishing collections and small books since 1997 and while he enjoys the process, he loves to write more, so From Out of the Dark is a labor of love.
