The first volume, Geometry, Language and Strategy, extended the concepts of Game Theory, replacing static equilibrium with a deterministic dynamic theory. The first volume opened up many applications that were only briefly touched on. To study the consequences of the deterministic approach in contrast to standard Bayesian approaches, the richness of applications, requires an engineering foundation and discipline, which this volume supplies. It provides a richer list of applications, such as the Prisoner's Dilemma, which extends the resonant behavior of Vol. 1 to more general time-dependent and transient behaviors.

Contents:

  • Physical and Game Theory Foundations:

    • Introduction
    • Dynamics of Decision Processes
    • Inertial Behaviors
    • Persistent Behaviors
    • Deconstructing the Theory
    • Steady State Harmonics
  • Decision Engineering:

    • Prisoner's Dilemma: A Code of Conduct Application
    • Prisoner's Dilemma — Steady State Geometry
    • Prisoner's Dilemma: Determinism and Chaos

    • Decisions and Determinism
    • Global Systems View
  • Three Active Strategy Systems:

    • Vorticity and Active Strategies
    • Game Equivalency
    • Two-Person Decision Processes
    • Steady State Geometries in 3D
    • Structural Distinctions for Decision Processes
    • Social Distinctions for Decision Processes

Readership: Researchers in game theory, optimization and control theory, fluid mechanics, electrical engineering.
    Key Features:

    • Volume 2 goes into greater mathematical depth in order to deal with transient and harmonic behaviors. Standard game theory models of the prisoner's dilemma are looked at in a new way
    • Even standard game theory concepts are looked at in a new way. Payoffs are not treated as a static fixed set of numbers but it is proposed that they also obey a set of rules or equations that are subject to verification
    • New behaviors such a chaos, turbulence, etc. normally associated with fluids are behaviors that are expected from this new perspective
