Georgie is a little caterpillar that is content doing the same thing day after day. He's not very open to change of any kind. One day while snacking on his favorite tasty leaf, he meets a beautiful butterfly named Priscilla who talks to Georgie about change. Georgie thinks things are fine, just the way they are and is reluctant to accept what Priscilla is telling him, especially when she tells him that one day he will transform into a butterfly, which completely confuses Georgie. He can't grasp the idea that a caterpillar would ever turn into a butterfly. Georgie says, "if i was supposed to be a butterfly then i would have been born a butterfly."Eventually our friend Georgie comes around and understand that all things change whether we want them to or not and that change is not necessarily a bad thing. He also realizes that change is inevitable. This short story was written for children, but the message applies to everyone, regardless of age. We all tend to resist change and most of the time realize that thinking about change is very often worse that the change itself.
