Short Story
Recommended Ages: 17+
Even small tribal villages built on idealistic mountain slopes have problems. Crops wither, cows run off, the sheep are stupid, well, you know. For the tribe of Anic, more or less happily settled between the Great Forest and the Blooded Mountains, these every day problems are compounded by their chieftain's heir being mentally deficient. How else could you explain the boy's tendency to start babbling incoherently whenever he was even slightly excited?
But things get even worse when a monstrous giant comes along, burning their crops, driving their cows off, and demanding human sacrifices. Or does it actually present them with an opportunity to clear the line of inheritance?
