What happens when we turn on a light in a cluttered and filthy room? We see bugs scurrying away from the light and we see the clutter, dirt and dust still there! The bug’s reaction is very similar to our reaction when we are in darkness (sin).
God is L to the third power: love, life, and light . . . when he gets involved in our lives, he shows us things we may prefer not to confront or look at; things we have hidden—even from ourselves. We do not want to deal with our darkness (sins), flaws, faults and failures, nor do we delight in having them exposed. We may feel condemned about them, and we feel they are hidden- anything hidden has power over us because we fear it may be found out. The best and most freeing thing we can do is face up to what God want to expose and get beyond the fear of it (1 John 3:20 and 1 Corinthians 4:5). God Is My Light helps, inspires, and encourages us to face the light and love of God with confidence, knowing that God corrects those who he cares about and love unconditionally.
When the clutter and filth is unattended to for days, weeks, and years . . . without cleaning and correction, it eventually causes harm—erosion and corrosion. The effects of filthy environment and effects of sin have very similar effects. The corruption of sin effects our body (physically and spiritually) and our mind and mouth (physically, emotionally, spiritually, and verbally). Sin causes erosion and corrosion—physically, mentally, and spiritually (sickness and disease), which poison our mind and body in many ways; that affects us as an individual, our relationship with God and others and even our ability to function wholeheartedly in our church, community, and world. Also, the corruption of sin causes our mind, body, and mouth to be polluted and corrupt-making our thoughts, words and deeds; irrational, selfish, stinky, immoral and impure.
God Is My Light is the first out of seven volumes that contains a practical, simplified, and continuous message about knowing God, his Son, Jesus Christ, and his Word, the Bible: the purpose and plans for us—why knowing this is beneficial and important to us.
God Is My Light is a book that reminds us that we all have a history . . . a history that may be filled with trials, tribulations, struggles, and so on. Your history, or history in general, is a great teacher . . . but your family history or your family does not determine your destiny or divine destiny. God could take your history and make it a marvelous mystery. God is my light is a book that inspires, encourage and challenge you with God’s message but it also revealed to you through poetry some of my personal struggles, trials, tribulations, challenges and history. The poetry reminds you regardless of how many times you fallen or how deep the ditch you fell in; Jesus’s love and arms extended beyond your failures, struggles, and history. Jesus’s arm are never too short to pull you out! Jesus’s arm are never closed; he welcomes everyone with open arms.
God Is My Light reminds us of three things:
1. No matter our history and the struggles we faced yesterday, today, and tomorrow . . . we are never alone; Jesus Christ is there and cares. He is waiting on an invitation from you, to invite him into your heart, home, and life.
2. Regardless of your history . . . you could be reborn, renewed, redeemed, and reconciled to our Heavenly Father God.
3. You could become a new creature with a new heart and life.
Let the love and light of God shine on your hidden motives and dark places. He knows about them anyway but he wants you to admit them freely and openly and wants to bring you to a place of freedom. Are you willing to walk in the light to start eliminating some of the filth, dirt, and darkness: sin, brokenness, baggage, and bondage that you possess? God don’t call us to walk alone . . . Jesus Christ walks with us and the Holy Spirit guides us. Are you willing to take the first step with Jesus today? Let love and light of God shine on and through you . . . so you could experience eternal life. To God be the glory!
