Henry, an experienced environmental scientist, has made a disturbing discovery. The Earth, long the subject of all the worst that mankind can throw at it, is finally dying, and there is not long left for humanity on this planet. Together with his wife and colleagues, he hatches a plan to evacuate a small, select, group of scientists and engineers to a newly discovered planet, many light years away, where they can establish a new colony, and save at least a part of mankind.
