The present book is a work of fiction spun around the following piece of known western history. Yellowed newspaper clippings from a remote date in the last century note that three bandits charged with murder were released for lack of evidence from Juarez Jail, Mexico. Those same file clippings also record that shortly afterwards their bodies were discovered. Someone had stalked and methodically dispatched them one by one. It was never learned who had dispensed the justice that the renegades had evaded in court.
