When Mallory Flynn first met Alden Albert, a world famous concert pianist, she was only a star-struck young college student. Much to her surprise as well as to the surprise of her parents, the musician pursued her during her studies in NYC. She gave her word to marry him though she feared his mother who was the very definition of "hated-stage-Mom," During her time in NYC, she also became friends with Shaun Longfeather who would become a famous cellist. They were soul mates but time and circumstance pulled them apart. They lost contact and Shaun had no idea what happened to his beloved friend. They never really stopped loving and thinking about each other. At an Amateur Piano COmpetition at the college where Mallory taught, Shaun was one of the judges. The behind the scenes look at this amatuer competition has some funny moments as well as very touching ones. There ia a mystery about Dr. Flynn. Shaun, too, has some issues with which he must deal. Alden Albert's mother and her hatred for the young woman whom she blames for destroying Alden's career is hostile and punitive even long after the couple have divorced. THe story of loves lost to each other and then reunited is set against the worlds of concert muscians, academics and equestrian endeavors. There is a generous helping of humor and, mystery.
