The Anthology, HOLD BACK THE SUNSET is an expression of life, snippets of my life, my thoughts, my dreams, my hopes, my disappointments, just living this life.
The collection speaks to the emotions raised up within me during my experiences of the cycle of everyday life. The offerings carry the readers on brief journeys into each subject whether looking at the topic of cherished or hidden love, relationships, abuse, death or the heavenly creator.
Raw emotions of fear, hope, love, joy, meshing with the phenomenon revealed daily by God's creation. The indescribable beauty of a setting sun, the pleasure of seeing and feeling cascading droplets of rain.
Agonizing about the creators’ finest art, man, his finest attributes and sometimes the evidence of man's degradation.
Mother, sister, dad, family, lovers, friends, earthen vessels all playing interlinking roles in the circle called life.
Manipulations, pulsating raw human emotions, senseless murder in our world, abuse of our children, and the lament of the undeserving but necessary death on Calvary.
Metamorphism in progress, wasted tomorrows intersects with hurried work today to create new hope for tomorrow.
The poems exhorts us, yes you and me to cloth oneself with new skin, overcome mindless fears and learn that despite all challenges we must arise, stretch ourselves and never cease to love ourselves.
Years of believing that I could fly, that I can soar, hesitating at first but yes I can soar if I but try ……
So I grabbed hold of my instincts crawled out of my cocoon and started to fly.
Now breathing outside my head, thoughts indelibly inscribed on paper, spilling into the spaces of other minds …
