“I wish I had the courage to tell you.”
Harper is a big dreamer and he is divided between his homework and the writing of May’s book reports. May is his best friend who continues to postpone everything because she does not have the time to read the books proposed by the school book club. May (aka Tinks) is a sweet girl who is full of energy that never stops, not even in front of an investigation conducted by Jack Pierce for his investigative agency, in which she unofficially works part-time in her spare time or when she is not helping Mrs. Pierce in her bookstore. During an undercover operation May is distracted and gets drunk at a party and Harper cannot help but run to her rescue, but not without consequences.
When May starts to look around and go out with more and more guys, in particular Owen O'Brian, the baseball team’s captain, Harper starts having doubts about wanting to remain friends. Under Syd’s guidance, his younger sister, he is compelled to organize a plan to have one last chance to express the feelings he has towards May. Not everything that is planned goes as scripted...
It is recommended (but is not indispensable) the reading of the novel “I’ve loved you for some time now”.
