Vince returns home from a covert mission in South West Africa to find his relationship with Malcolm Lungu the head of the Special Team for Economy and Trade (S.I.T.E.T) at its lowest ebb. Despite suffering from multiple injuries incurred when he fell out of the sky in a plane crash, he is given an assignment that has him running around the city of Lusaka, with both friend and foe shadowing him at each and every step.

Malcolm assigns him to break up a syndicate involved in the illegal sale of precious stones. What Vince does not know is that the person he is shadowing has connections to Zimbabwe and Angola, to other syndicates involved in poaching of elephants and rhinos. Life starts getting to be very complicated when the past starts catching up with the present, when foes and friends from a decade ago start resurfacing. Amidst all this is Vince’ love affair with Zoe Zulu, the cause of his frosty relationship with Malcolm. Zoe is the wife of Malcolm’s best friend, a civil servant who is out on a diplomatic mission at the Zambian High Commission in New York. Malcolm feels duty bound to protect the interests of his best friend, even if it means making Vince suffer in the process.

Vince knows that he has to watch his step if he is to successfully carry out his assignment and stay alive.
