In the 1500s, Spanish Conquistadores sought to subjugate the Incan Empire and loot it of its gold. Among the Incas facing them was Atahualpa--Exemplary Fortune-the self-assured (some would say arrogant) son of the Incan Emperor. It is Atahualpa's task to discover the purpose of the strange ship which has come to their shores, and uncover the threat posed by the invaders.

But there are other threats closer to home. Atahualpa's Incan enemies believe that the prince is an even greater danger to their civilization than the Spanish. They stand in the way of Atahualpa's plans to save the Inca from a barbarous nation with weapons more terrifying than either can imagine.

He will not cease in his quest to warn an unbelieving empire. If he fails, his civilization will be destroyed and the Inca bound into eternal servitude.
