A guy graduates from school and then gets a good job, at good pay, right out of school.
He works hard and turns out to be very good at his job. However, the culture in his company is that of hard core snow skiers. He has a bit of a handicap.
He's in good physical shape so he should be able to learn to ski, without a great deal of difficulty. He makes plans to learn to ski, on his own, so that his co-workers wouldn't see beginner boy fumble and stumble through the learning process.
Then, he meets a very pretty blonde lady, Nanci, who seems interested in accompanying him on a ski trip. The guy then buys travel to the ski resort, lodging in a private condo room and a pair of lift tickets for himself and the lady and lessons just for the guy, since Nanci is already a good skier. At Nanci's request the guy furnishes Nanci with copies of the whole package and, of course, her lift ticket chit. He's a bit uneasy at Nanci's requests, but what can he do?
Alas, the blonde lady doesn't board the bus with the guy, but instead boards with another guy.
The guy stumbles on the bus and sits, alone and scorned, the village idiot. Not only is he a joke for the rest of the ski trip, but the people work in the industry in which he works. Everyone in town will know of his stupidity and his public disgrace.
There seems to be no way out. However, the guy has brought a book along with him, just in case. He begins to turn the pages and pretends to read, while he tries to find a way out of his predicament.
He does come up with a plan, but will it work?
