Johnny Maguire is a ten-year-old student at Euclid Elementary School. While enjoying a summer vacation in Florida, Johnny overheard two men plotting to destroy the dolphins so the dolphins cannot be used to detect their new weapon. Johnny teams up with the Geodes to try and stop their evil plot. The Geodes are geometric super heroes from the twelfth dimension and accidentally became trapped on Earth while conducting scientific experiments. They decided to teach geometry and mathematics at Euclid Elementary School while they try to figure out how to get back to their own dimension. The story of Johnny and the Geodes teaches that mathematics can be fun and has many practical applications. Through the Geodes, the story shows examples of everyday objects that are actually shaped like geometric solids. Johnny and the Geodes also teaches valuable life lessons such as crime doesn’t pay; honesty is the best policy, and the importance of teamwork and planning.
