The way to grieve God’s way is to model how Jesus grieved. The Bible teaches that Jesus grieved appropriately, properly, and with an eternal perspective. His grief was uncomplicated and forward-looking. Jesus’ motivation for all of life was pleasing His Father which influenced His perspective and response to the death of Lazarus, the fall of Jerusalem, and His own death. He knew and applied the principle of gain through loss. Because Jesus grieved God’s way, so too can the believer. Because Jesus lived and taught the principle of gain through loss, so too can the believer,. The believer is never under the circumstances and a victim to and in God’s providential working but more-than-a-conqueror, because he is in Christ Jesus.
