Katya is one of 24 women and 8 men who are to provide shore-leave for the staff and crew of the SOLAR WIND on a 20-year voyage to the asteroids. Katya is a certified sex therapist and surrogate spouse and a Clinical Psychologist
from Sweden. Sex therapists are part of the Psychology staff on the voyage. They are responsible for research into the affects of long term space flight on the staff and crew as well as their well being as a community. Nippon-American built the Orbital Complex or OC(oh see) at L5 and the SOLAR WIND (spacecraft). The company pays most of the crew and some of the staff. The majority of the staff is paid by the UN. The UN wants Nippon-American Corp. to tag asteroids for future use. The company wants to orbit asteroids behind the moon at L2 for the lunar colony and Orbital Complex or OC (oh see) at L5. Katya falls in love with Alex, the Czech in charge of the Nuclear Physics staff for the UN and the engineering crew for the company. Alex has an affair with Iliss, a married woman going on the voyage with her husband. Later, Katya falls in love with Iliss. Falling in love complicates Katya's life and job. How do you hide affairs from 320 people on a spacecraft the size of a city block?
