Your imagination is a powerful thing. When people come together and begin to imagine and see the same thing nothing is impossible.
We see this in Genesis 11 where after the great flood the people decided to build a “tower that reaches to the heavens.” God saw what they were doing and said,
“If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them” (Genesis 11:6, NIV).
Anything is possible when you put your minds and your imaginations together; whatever you believe will begin to manifest. God had to come down and confuse their languages so they couldn't work together anymore and they would go out into the world and fill it as he had commanded them.
This story shows us the power of imagination. These people were hungry and desperate. They fed off of one another's imaginations and began to do something great. There are images instilled within humanity, within each and every person on the earth; and because of this people build up images and pictures within their minds. They take what resonates with them and fill in the outlines and color in the picture of what they want to accomplish. They create an image that was born out of their imagination.
And so in the Genesis story, each person had his or her own image or picture of a city with a tower that would reach the heavens. When they came together they began to feed off of one-another's imaginations, images and pictures. This is the power of unity.
