Tension between management and keeper staff at the Caroland zoo had reached an all-time high. Amid the discord, there have been six animal escapes, leaving keepers frightened and baffled. Upper management blames keeper error, yet the keepers insist they've made no mistakes. Harold Greer, the zoo's director, takes great pleasure in reprimanding the keepers during zoo-wide staff meetings, adding to the keepers' frustration.

Julie Landon, head bear keeper, believes a member of management is responsible. Her father figure, Police Chief Jonathan Wilkes, isn't convinced. Unbeknownst to Julie, he assigns one of his officers, Chad Duvall, as an undercover keeper to gain information.

As Chad bungles his way through wild animal care, the escapes escalate, putting keepers and animals in extreme danger. Chad and Julie's relationship escalates as well. Will Julie forgive Chad his deception when the danger is over and the culprit is found?
