Part One (1949): describes the enigma of a workman, sugarcane chopper, farmer, womanizer, quarrelsome in drunkenness, friend of friends, and fathered nine children. He doesnt have integrity to acknowledge the studies of science and mathematics. He has no training or education. He is determined to make his dream a reality.
