Lauren’s Love Lessons is the first of several books in the "Yesteryear Erotica" collection, setting the collection apart from the Holly Craig series set in present times. Lauren's Love Lessons is set in 1938 in Norfolk, England, just before the start of the Second World War. Lauren skips school 5 days earlier than planned and takes a horrifying journey across London to arrive at the seaside holiday home of family friends, disrupting their holiday with her presence. She confides in Emma about her miserable schooldays and Emma decides to educate her with practical demonstrations about boys, sex and the pleasures of being a girl.
Her husband, Steven, joins in the education sessions and the three holidaymakers soon begin to put their days together to very good use. The arrival of Lauren’s parents should have put a damper on their love lessons but they engage in secret sessions which become increasingly risky.
Neighbors are invited to lunch and Lauren meets Julian, a boy a year older than her and decides to seduce him with her newly acquired knowledge. They take long walks on the beach and gradually become romantically involved but it is Emma who provides the final assistance that Lauren requires to consummate her relationship with Julian.
As with all Jodie Halliday novels, the sex is explicit and detailed. Each climax builds from a slow burn to a pounding finale that will keep you returning to read scenes again and again as you cry out with the heroes.
