A drummer who loves to sing met with a guitarist Jerry Cantrell. And the impact was the initiation of a great rock band Alice In Chains. Layne Thomas Staley was the drummer who later served as the lead singer and co-songwriter for the Alice In Chains.

 

Alice In Chains mounted to international reputation as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s. The band became known for his different vocal style, as well as the synchronized vocals between him and Cantrell.

 

Staley was also a member of the super groups Mad Season and Class of '99. By mid-1996, Staley would be out of the public focus, never to sing live again.

 

Staley suffered greatly from depression in his life. Excessive drug abuse was the outcome of such depression. Though there were ups and down in his career, but still he is remembered for his great contribution for the music industry.
