Oliver and his mother have just bought up half the town, and Oliver likes throwing his money around to buy respect. He takes an interest in Gerry, a bartender in a seedy bar downtown, but Gerry tells him he can't just leave in the middle of a shift. So Oliver corners the bar owner, and writes him a check and asks if that is enough to send Gerry home for the night and take over the shift himself. The owner tells Gerry to go home, so he goes home with Oliver. After they have fantastic sex, Oliver's mother calls to ask when he is going to find a female of the species to give her grandkittens. He tells her he just met someone, so she orders him to bring her over for lunch tomorrow. Is she ever surprised when he shows up not only with a man, but a human man! Oliver's brother cracks enough remarks so she can figure out that it will be up to the younger brother to produce grand kittens. Then she asks Oliver if he has told Gerry yet. Well, no, because they just met, after all. Gerry says "tell me WHAT?" So Oliver takes him into a spare bedroom in mother's mansion, and demonstrates his ability to turn into a panther. Gerry figures, what the hell, he hasn't hurt me yet, so they have fantastic sex with Oliver's brother listening outside the bedroom door. And as it turns out, mother likes Gerry, so they go back to Oliver's place and have more fantastic sex. This is book one of the Panther Shifters series, and book four of the boxed set that includes that series.
