There is a saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions... and hell is just where Helen Wiels thought she was  heading when, with the best of intentions, her fiance, Jackson Wagner, hires an assistant for her. That assistant is her former boss, the woman who got Helen fired from her first job after she'd graduated from library school.

Helen thought the assistant's job was temporary, but she was wrong.  The position was permanent, and worse, the woman was going to live with them. Not even Jackson's manor is big enough when the sniping, ill-tempered harridan is around.

Things went from bad to worse the night  Jackson failed to come home. Helen can't convince anyone in authority that Jackson did not disappear voluntarily. The boundaries between friends and enemies became nebulous. No one was trustworthy when Helen was left on her own to figure out what happened to her fiance.

Life Matters is Book 3 in the Helen Wiels Mystery series.
