Review of LOTL
"I have terrible memory (I don’t even remember if I ever was a kid) - but the onslaught of nostalgia triggered by David’s simple descriptions of things that basically dominated my childhood, was absolutely real.

Reading through LOTL the first time also reminded me of some of my favorite books as a kid- Famous Five, The Hardy Boys, Huckleberry Finn to name a few. I loved the feeling these books left me with right after I had put them down. One of wanting an adventure.

LOTL bears with it many values and morals that we seldom see in today’s media. When I first read through the story, I realized how mutely poignant certain values are. We are tangled in this technology infested universe without much of a moment to spare for ourselves, and this story sets itself in a space that is rooted with the planet, without even preaching it. To go out and look for something that is yet undiscovered and you don’t even know if it exists; you just don’t do that anymore.

Themes of losing in the face of a greater force, perseverance, confidence, understanding, forgiveness and friendship are some of the stronger themes routinely explored in the book."
