An inspiring quote by Henry Miller states «One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things».
In this sense, this booklet is an invitation to the reader to ‘see’ Lisbon through my very eyes. I have the privilege to be simultaneously an insider and an outsider. Let me explain: I am an insider because I was born and grew up in Lisbon. But I am an outsider too, since I left very young to live abroad for approximately two decades. Being so, when I came back, I had to re-visit and re-discover my own home town, as if I were a stranger.
My wish to see beyond the obvious led me to do lvaried research, and I was lucky enough to discover many fascinating details and stories I am now sharing with you. The book contains 12 chapters, dealing each one with a specific theme related to the Portuguese capital. Each chapter is like a tile, and all together they build a mosaic of the city, showing it from many different perspectives and angles, offering thus an interesting, still subjective view.
