At its 77th General Convention held in Indianapolis in July, 2012, The Episcopal Church authorized the use of Liturgical Resources I: I Will Bless You and You Will Be A Blessing, resources, including a rite, for blessing the lifelong covenants of same-sex couples. Through the process of committee hearings and debate in the Houses of Deputies and Bishops, the resources presented to the Convention were perfected before the final vote was taken in each House. At its first meeting of the new triennium in November 2012, the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music reviewed the changes made by General Convention and certified this final version. Church Publishing will make the full approved resource available as quickly as possible in both print and electronic versions in English, Spanish and French. Church Publishing is honored to work with the General Convention Office and the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music to provide this important new resource for the church.
