This book is an educational resource for parents, teachers and adults to read to young children about trans and gender diverse people. It is a story about Lucy Star at age 7 who just wants to be who she really is - a girl. Lucy was born with a body that looked like a boy but she knows she is a girl. She always said Mummy I dont feel like a boy. Lucy starts primary school as a boy but in grade 2 Lucy insists on wearing a dress and being called Lucy. Her parents are supportive of her and they talk to the school. The next day Lucy wears a dress. Lucy is bullied by some of the children. Lucy just wants them to understand her. Patsy and Bill, Lucys parents, move Lucy into a new school where she blossoms. She meets news friends namely Maisie and Marcel and finally Lucy is able to be who she really is.
