Herbert Marshall McLuhan, (July 21, 1911 - December 31, 1980) was a Canadian philosopher. Most notable for his theories regarding media, Mcluhan is known for coining the expressions "The Global Village" , and "The Medium is the Message". Eventhough, he predicted the existence of the World Wide Web almost thirty years before it was invented, he did not predict the emergence of eBook's and companies like Kobo.

Sadly, Mcluhan is not alive to apply his Four Laws of Media to eBooks. Luckily, Saif Janjua, one of the brightest people to have ever graced the world is. In a partnership with Barnswell's Books he attempts to uncover the full effect eBooks have had on society; what they enhance, reverse, retrieve, and obsolesce.
