This is the second novel in the series of the Sheriff Bull Toros mysteries. The first novel “Murder on Monkey Mountain” finds Bull returning to his home made Ozark cabin in Washo County Missouri, from his military service in Vietnam. The then Sheriff and his wife are murdered in a part of a series of gang related and conspiratorial murders and arson. In “Murder” you will read that the county judges have asked Bull to run for election and fill the vacancy of the deceased Sheriff. Bull has met Colonel Loni Abel, and her executive secretary Anita. Loni is an Air Force base commander. Bull is reunited with an old friend Pete “The Greek” who does pinstriping and motorcycle art at rallies. Bull and Loni both ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and have karate training, both of which have a key part in the first novel. There is some talk of the Jesse James treasure possibly hidden in a cave on Monkey Mountain. But will they discover more than a long hidden and forgotten treasure?
This novel reunites Bull and Loni, Anita and Pete as they kindle their romance and begin their search of the cave. The last of the Cherokee tribe Big Chief, who knows everything about the mountain, plays a very important part. They will encounter a man-like creature known as Mo-Mo. In other parts of the country it may be known as Big Foot or Sasquatch. Will they find a treasure? Will they find much more in this cave? Will they survive what they find? You will have to read the novel to find out.
We have several other short novels soon to be published. “Old Doc Franklin” is a creative and historical of the Tennessee civil war period. “A Time to Die” is also of that period. If you were intrigued by Mo-Mo, we have one named “Whistler” coming up. If you prefer a belly laugh, “Yard Sale” is also in the works.
