Mercy Warren (1728-1814) was sister of James Otis and wife of James Warren, both leaders in the early stages of the American Revolution. These plays of hers are of historical, not dramatic interest. Her main work is her history of the American Revolution (The Rise, Progress and Termination of the American Revolution Interspersed with Biographical, Political, and Moral Observations).
