This is a story about a young girl who is born with a seemingly deformed leg. It is not until much later on in life that her and her parents discover that what she has is not in fact a deformity but something much stranger.
Macy is in fact a mermaid and as she reaches the age of eighteen she must make a decision as to whether she should live her life with the mermaids or with humans.
