Miki Mavuya is eleven years old. He is excited when his cousin, the local middle-weight boxing champion, Zap Mazela, visits the Mavuya household. He is honoured when asked to look after a treasured pair of boxing gloves for Zap. He puts these in a safe place. But unfortunately for Miki, his grandmother finds them and what happens after that is the stuff of nightmare for Miki.
Things get worse when Zap is knocked out before the match even starts. With the big match approaching, things really go off the rails and there is nobody to face the mighty Chunky Chonco in the ring.
Then Miki gets the biggest surprise of his life. The most embarrassing surprise a young boy can suffer. He is convinced at this point, that his family is bent on ruining his life. But success and rewards come in a surprising twist that Miki cannot begin to imagine.
