What happens when you find the girl of your dreams, but she has a curse on her that makes her think she's not worthy of your affection? How do you go about convincing a beautiful, flaming-haired sea-goddess that she's the epitome of beauty?

Mike, the lifeguard, will soon find out as he sets off to rescue a fair-maiden in distress only to find out that he is dealing with something far more bizarre than he could have ever anticipated.

I can't tell you much more about this Taboo Paranormal Mermaid story other than it's sizzling hot and full of wet, leaky goodness!

Excerpt:

It was an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous morning on the beach. The sun was just peeking over the horizon and there was a slight breeze kicking up the waves. I climbed up into my lifeguard perch and smiled as I sat back and readied myself for a long day. I combed my fingers through my short blond hair and applied suntan oil all over my bronze, muscular body.

A couple of girls walked past, giggling and winking their approval of the handsome stud. One of the best things about this job is that girls digged the male lifeguards. Of course, it didn't hurt that we were buff and hot.

I put on my sun-visor and did my cursory sweep of the ocean. I didn't really expect to see anything as there was only a couple of warm bodies on the sand, but when it came to taking my job seriously, I wasn't going to slack off.

The morning sun's light glinted off the blue ocean waves and I had to put on my sunglasses just to be able to see anything. I spotted nothing out of the ordinary and was about to turn back to my e-reader when I heard a shrill voice way off in the distance. That's odd, I thought to myself as I scanned the area from whence the voice came. I couldn't see anything in swimming distance, but I wouldn't put it past some idiots to swim out farther than they were able to handle.

I still didn't see anything, but I was definitely hearing what sounded like a woman's voice off in the distance. There have been a few times that I was able to save someone that I couldn't see, so I grabbed my equipment and raced out in the direction of the voice.

Swimming came naturally to me as I had been doing it ever since junior high. Most people gave up serious swimming when they turned eighteen, but not me. I was a gold medalist in the state swimming competition and that just further fueled my passion for all things water. I love to swim, kayak, surf and even fish. That's why taking this job was a no-brainer for me. Let the smarter kids go to college and beat their brains into their textbooks as they listen to their boring professors drone on and on about whatever.

I slipped into the water like it was my second home and calmly, yet urgently swam toward where the sound was coming from. I was right, it was a woman's voice and it was definitely getting louder the closer I got. But I was still unable to see anything in the water.

As I drew closer, my heart began beating faster. This far out and even I was going to have trouble dragging them back to safety.

After several minutes of swimming, I came to the area where I believed the sound was coming from. At first, I saw no one, but as I looked around I noticed that there was some kind of an open cave-like structure directly underneath me.

Huh, I thought to myself as I swam around. I had been doing this for a couple of years now and had never spotted this particular rock formation. I no longer heard the cry of the woman and wondered suddenly if she hadn't given up and sunk down.

Taking a large gulp of air, I hurriedly dove straight down, frantically searching for any lifeless bodies in the water around me. I saw nothing until I got to the cave entrance and then it looked like my eyes deceived me.
