Angie Manning has no intention of going to her twentieth high school reunion, but a well-meaning, nosy friend talks her into it. Once back home, she remembers how close she and her old friends used to be, and she’s glad she changed her mind about coming home. In fact, she decides that in the future, she should make more of an effort to stay in touch with those friends, including Patrick, who doesn’t make it to the reunion due to a tough family situation.
Shepherd’s Mill Country Club is a beautiful setting for the first night of the reunion. The trouble is, it was also a beautiful setting for Angie’s senior prom. And once inside the building, Angie can’t help but remember her best friend and prom date, Eric O’Reilly. Eric had been dreamy in his tux, and they shared their first kiss on the dance floor that night.
When Angie sees Eric at the reunion, the old longing stirs to life. He looks damned good in his form-fitting jeans and white button down shirt. He’s changed some, but Angie recognizes her old friend and the spark she felt on the dance floor twenty years ago, the one Eric ignited and then let smolder when he walked away.
Once again, Eric seems to send her mixed signals. Can Angie forgive Eric for what happened twenty years ago? Can they find a second chance at love?
