When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be a writer. But as I grew up, that changed despite my love to write. As my junior year of high school was coming to a close, I had another change of heart with what I wanted to do with my life and found myself at a crossroad. It was then that my dad suggested I try to pursue writing.

The stories collected in this collection were written during my teenage years. A lot of the work is "experimental" as I tried to figure out what worked and what didn't in terms of transitions and literary devices. I don't think this collection would've been possible if it weren't for my father or my creative writing teacher. The latter taught me that brevity can be better and just as enjoyable as a novel. The former taught me to believe in myself and to "just keep swimming."
