South African rapper Ro, has taken the most vulnarable pages out of his lyrical diary, literally the content too daunting to be released in song, and opened up to expose even more of himself to the fans.

This book poetry mostly follows typical Hip-Hop rhyming form, with a few exceptions. Jam packed full of deep human thought provoking content from Africa to women, love, police, the west, liberalism, religion, depression and of course the common themes of his music, spirituality and politics.

If you are an introspective person or even just somebody tired of dumbed down superficial reads then this will tick your box.

Born and bred in a post Apartheid South Africa Johannesburg was where he learned my love for both Hip-Hop and the power of words, although ambitions of being a professional rugby player over shadowed this for years. After that did not work out he tried to follow in my family’s footsteps and work on an ambulance but once he moved to England in 2011 he later realised that music was the only thing that actually made him happy so decided to pursue that with the blessing of a very supportive family.

With the release of Where is my mind there is a strong feeling of closure and the realisation of what a true cathartic experience does for the soul, hopefully this piece of work can help pull others out of the darkness, or at least provide others with the understanding that we all hurt the same, and are the same.
