Liv and Sophie are far from home when they learn that the wild stallion, Mystery, has been rounded up. Hurrying back to the Lucky Star Ranch, Liv realizes Mystery can no longer run free, but she has plans--if only she can rescue her beloved horse before he is shipped away. Sophie has her own problems. Shane, the cowboy she loves, has built a wall of silence between them. Liv finds Mystery in an ancient underground Indian ruin, but when the roof collapses, Mystery goes berserk and Liv is seriously injured. Help comes from an unexpected direction, but will Liv be able to overcome her fears to train the horse she loves? And will Sophie discover the secret of Shane’s strange behavior?

SHARON SIAMON wrote adventure and humour books for children. Her first novels were set in the wilderness of Northern Ontario, where her family built a log cabin on a remote island. (The Blue Kite series, published by James Lorimer.), Sharon returned to her first love, horses, in her Rocky Mountain series, Mustang Mountain. It is set in the Alberta Rockies where thirteen-year-old riders on their mountain horses find adventure on wilderness mountain trails. Gallop to the Sea, the first in the **Saddle Island Series**, takes place on Nova Scotia’s beautiful eastern shores. There her young characters mix horses, boats, and adventures. Her last horse adventure series, Wild Horse Creek, is set in the southern desert and mountains of Arizona. She also wrote a series of ghost stories (**The Sleepovers Ghost** series) and co-authored, under the name of Geena Dare, The Stage School series.

Internationally known for her children's books, Sharon Siamon wrote more than twenty-five novels for eight to twelve-year-olds. Her work has been published in North America and in six European countries including Germany, Norway and Sweden. Through the Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council programs, she had participated in school and library readings across Canada. She died in 2015.
