Nectar Haven, a snapshot of Canadian life as seen through the eyes of its teenage hymenoptera residents, is a quirky coming-of-age tale about several grade-eight bees, wasps, and hornets and the event-filled weeks leading up to their long-awaited summer vacation and grade-eight graduation day. During these few life-altering weeks each bee, wasp, and hornet will be called upon to make some very grown-up decisions, and then learn how to live with the consequences of those decisions, whether right or wrong, good or bad. Love, sex, violence, and hate; they all get explored in Nectar Haven. In the end, though, everyone in Nectar Haven learns at least one thing for the future: how to better cope with the unexpected in life while accepting that which cannot be changed.

As everyone in Nectar Haven heedlessly soars towards graduation day, summer vacation, high school, and of course their exciting teenage seasons, life begins a spectacular journey for them all––a journey filled with dramatic adventures, mind-boggling challenges, unplanned struggles, and fantastic first discoveries.  But, ah, isn’t that the nature of all life, even hymenoptera life in Nectar Haven?
