The main advantage of a literary number technique is that it allows the author to add additional messages to a narrative, without overloading it with too many words. For example, the author can add a central biblical message; expands on the purpose of a section; inserts an additional meaning; refers to a message in another section where the same number is used; enhances a point; and attaches a spiritual message to a secular everyday event.

One must go back to the times of the bible authors to understand the literary techniques they have incorporated in their literature. Numbers was part of their literary environment, something foreign to us today. It is important to note that numbers do not alter any message in the bible. It only powerfully assists one to understand a narrative, revelation, or message in more depth.

An important advantage of the literary technique is that it warns one when you misread the meaning of a particular section. With a wrong interpretation the numbers in that section will not make any sense, prompting one to reread it carefully again.

To summarize, the book is written to clarify the role of numbers, which in turn helps us to understand how God’s revelations in different parts of the bible, joins together in one powerful message to His people.
